Be Sure to Plan For Home Business Success
Making your home based business a success is probably not an “optional” excercise for any of you. So why is it that so many of you refuse to take control of what you are doing with the tools that are available for you? This is a question I was asked recently by a friend of mine and must admit, it left me speechless.
He asked me about what efforts I had made to have my website’s ranking increased. I told him I had written a few articles and had them published in Ezine Articles. “Great, but what about the hundred other article publishing sites out there? Google searches more than just E-zine. People looking for information search more than just E-zine” he said to me. And you know what – he was right. So often, people running their own home based internet marketing business, especially newbies, will make some of the efforts needed for success but then stop, thinking that they have done enough. Then they wait for the money to start rolling in…and they wait…and they wait…and it doesn’t come in. Then they get annoyed, distracted and before you know it, their business becomes another statistic. Another unsuccessful attempt to make a living on the internet – twarted by ignorance, a lack of patience and/or funding.
The key to making you internet marketing business a success is to have your plan firmly in place. WRITE IT DOWN! REFER TO IT. CHANGE IT (if necessary). FOLLOW IT AGAIN! A plan for success is a complete waste of time if you don’t use it as the bible for everything you do, every day. I assure you, you will fail in the long run without a plan. The interent is rammed full of opportunity after opportunity and as they appear to you, without a plan, you’ll decide to start following one of them that suddenly looks very good. So as soon as you do that, you’ve left the plan you wrote behind. Now it’s time to write a new plan…or is it? Is this new idea what you want to do? Was it in your original plan? If not – think about why. At some point you decided that you wanted to take your business in a certain direction that didn’t feature this new idea. So what has changed? If you are struggling to answer that question, my suggestion is that you revert to Plan A. If, on the other hand, you have the answers pouring out of you, then change course to Plan B but make that the plan you follow form now on. WRITE IT DOWN! REFER TO IT. FOLLOW IT AGAIN!
Like that old adage goes, “without a plan to succeed you should plan on failing” – so I cannot stress strongly enough how vital this one element is for you and your home based business. You must stay resolute in your determination to succeed or course, but you have to be smart and follow your plan. Keep your eyes open to opportunities that will enhance your plan, but when you find one, incorporate it into what you are doing and then make sure you FOLLOW YOUR PLAN.
